Motorists taking the boulevard du Soleil in Bormes-les-Mimosas need to be patient. An impressive construction site is currently underway, generating inevitable disruptions but aiming to ensure the long-term safety of this road.
A slope weakened by weather conditions
The operation was made necessary by the weakening of the rock face bordering part of the roadway. The alternation of bad weather and intense heat degraded the slope, posing a risk to the safety of road users.
The municipality therefore initiated these consolidation works to prevent any risk of landslides and to ensure the sustainability of the road. On site, specialized teams are deploying significant resources: large construction equipment is mobilized, while rope access technicians, suspended on rappels, work directly on the rock face to stabilize it.

The project will be finalized with the installation of a protective mesh firmly anchored into the rock, thus completing the securing of the site.
Regulated traffic and patience required
In order to ensure the safety of everyone — residents, construction workers, and motorists —, traffic on the boulevard du Soleil is regulated by alternating traffic lights. This measure causes slowdowns, which can be more pronounced during peak hours.
The completion of the project and final inspection are scheduled for mid-November. Until then, users are asked to exercise caution when approaching the area and to allow extra travel time.
