Franck Chouquet: "Trusting our teams means valuing public service"
The Town took advantage of the summer to modernize several of its facilities, with a total investment exceeding €780,000.

During the summer, the Municipality undertook major renovation projects on its sports facilities and public spaces. These operations aimed to maintain municipal heritage, improve user comfort, and strengthen safety.
Rehabilitation of the Audevard stand
The Audevard stand at the stade Guy Moquet, used daily by 400 to 500 people and up to more than 700 during peak periods, has undergone rehabilitation. Municipal services carried out work on waterproofing, ceilings, and several structural elements.
The electrical grid and the lighting in the corridors were modernized, masonry cracks treated, and hardware replaced. The seats were removed to be renovated, while the floors and paintwork were completely redone.
He points out that part of the work was carried out in-house by municipal staff, mobilizing five agents, for an investment of €38,000 in materials. Finishing touches, particularly on the facades and signage, continued in September.
The decision to carry out a significant part of this work in-house is also a matter of good management. It allows us to control public spending and make significant savings, while ensuring the quality of the work. Above all, it is a way to showcase the skills and expertise of our municipal staff. Trusting our teams means valuing local public service while making the best use of every euro spent.
A more comfortable and energy-efficient dojo
The communal dojo also benefited from a makeover with the installation of insulation on the ceilings and a side wall, covering an area of nearly 315 m². These work, costing €44,700, will limit heat loss and improve comfort for athletes.
Rehabilitation of the avenue Maurin des Maures
The most significant project of the summer concerned the redevelopment of the avenue Maurin des Maures, near the école Pauline Rolland.
The operation has a double objective: to secure the surroundings of the school, and to permanently improve the living environment for local residents. Thus, a new forecourt was created, pedestrian pathways and sidewalks were reorganized, the roadway resurfaced, and the school bus stop completely redesigned.
The project places central importance on greening and de-paving the soil. Draining pavements were laid, and nearly 800 m² of landscaped areas and planter boxes were created to promote water infiltration.
In order to create new cool islands, 29 trees of seven different varieties (hackberry, eucalyptus, olive trees) and 1,200 Mediterranean perennial plants were planted. This major development represents an investment of over €700,000, covering roads, public lighting, and green spaces.
