François de Canson: 'The mobilization of everyone is effective'!
Crime in La Londe-les-Maures saw a significant drop across all indicators in 2025, the security council revealed.

The Conseil Local de Sécurité et de Prévention de la Délinquance (CLSPD) of La Londe-les-Maures met for its annual plenary session to review the actions taken and define security guidelines.
Chaired by the mayor, François de Canson, the meeting brought together representatives of the Procureur de la République, the Préfecture du Var, the Département, as well as all local security and prevention actors.
A spectacular drop in figures
'This annual meeting allows us, within the framework of this consultation body, to make a global assessment of the security situation in La Londe, share a common diagnosis, evaluate the actions taken, and define future guidelines. And this year once again, we see that our joint efforts are paying off since all indicators are significantly down,' explained the mayor.

Making public tranquility 'the first of all freedoms', the Municipalité and its partners are seeing their efforts rewarded. According to the report presented by Major Rival Moralès, commanding the Gendarmerie of La Londe-les-Maures, general crime recorded a 21% decrease over one year.
In detail, violence against individuals fell by 31%, from 76 to 52 recorded incidents. Property damage also decreased by 22%, while vehicle thefts and thefts from vehicles dropped by 41% and 44% respectively. The number of burglaries stood at 22 for the year 2025.
These results highlight the effectiveness of vigilance actions, particularly regarding domestic violence, with the introduction of a social worker within the Gendarmerie, and road safety through reinforced checks (blood alcohol levels, narcotics, speeding).
Reinforced human and material resources
This positive dynamic is the result of a policy combining vigilance, prevention, and firmness, supported by continuous investment in law enforcement resources.
'Our policy aiming at vigilance, prevention, and firmness all at once is paying off,' assured François de Canson.
The mayor emphasized the importance of the operational partnership between the Gendarmerie and the Police municipale, supported during the summer season by the CRS and the Garde Républicaine. The commune continued to strengthen its local police force with the recruitment of two officers in 2026 and the expansion of its equipment pool, which includes 63 video protection cameras.
Community policing patrols were increased, day and night, in the city center, around schools, and in the various neighborhoods. The meeting reaffirmed the central role of prevention, with targeted actions conducted with CM2 and sixth-grade students on harassment and cyberbullying.
'This is an area we will continue to develop with preventive actions, particularly regarding addictive behaviors, conducted with the educational community, youth structures, and social actors. Because, from the fight against minor incivilities to action against delinquency, we will let nothing slide, so that La Londe remains a city where life is good, in complete safety,' concluded the mayor.
