The ceremony took place at the CFM Colmay on the La Lauzette site. It was presided over by capitaine de frégate Karl Provost, commanding officer of the bataillon de fusiliers marins Détroyat. All civil and military personnel of the CFM were present in the ranks. Delegations of guests consisting of the staff of the Force des fusiliers marins et commandos, the centre de transmissions de la Marine (CTM) France Sud, as well as Mrs. Joëlle Robert-Colmay, daughter of Constant Colmay, attended this ceremony. Enseigne de vaisseau 1st class Grégory Meurice, originally from La Madeleine (Nord), drafted as a conscript in 2000, enlisted in 2001 as a quartiermaître de la flotte in the fusilier marin specialty. After an initial assignment to the compagnie de fusiliers marins de Rosnay, his transfers led him to the groupement de fusiliers marins de Toulon, and to the base navale de Toulon. His career is also marked by deployments aboard the frigate Jean Bart, the command and replenishment ship Marne, or the multi-mission frigate Auvergne. An officer since 2022, he was assigned to the CFM Colmay, where he served as second-in-command before taking command of the CFM Colmay. He notably holds the Croix du Combattant, the Médaille d'or de la Défense nationale with combat vessels and overseas operations clasps, and the Médaille de protection militaire du Territoire. The fusiliers marins are the specialized forces of the Marine nationale for military defense and maritime interdiction missions. 24/7, they are committed to the military and maritime defense of the territory to protect sensitive naval sites, including facilities linked to deterrence, and to escort high-value units, both in mainland France and overseas. Their missions also lead them to support naval air operations, participate in the control of maritime areas, and contribute to the fight against illicit trafficking. Finally, they take part in joint operations on land and from the sea, such as amphibious missions.
