La Saint-Pierre celebrated the city's maritime heritage

After the mass celebrated on place Georges-Gras by the parish priest in the late afternoon, followed by the procession, the mayor and the Conseil municipal proceeded to cast wreaths from a boat. "The La Saint-Pierre festival, celebrated every year in La Londe-les-Maures, is a vibrant tribute to former sailors and sailors lost at sea. This traditional event gathers the local population around various ceremonies and festive activities," recalled François de Canson, the mayor. The first magistrate added: "These begin with an open-air mass dedicated to Saint Pierre, the patron saint of fishermen, followed by a moving laying of wreaths at sea to honor the memory of the lost sailors. Residents and visitors can then enjoy the procession of the patron saint at the port, creating a friendly and festive atmosphere. The La Saint-Pierre festival is not only a moment of commemoration, but also an opportunity to strengthen respect for Provençal traditions and to celebrate the maritime heritage of La Londe-les-Maures." The festival ended with an aperitif offered by the Town.
