During the two years of command, the sailors of the GPD Méditerranée and the BBPD Pluton participated in more than 100 missions on national territory, including more than 60 mine clearance missions, leading to the destruction of over 700 munitions.
During this command, the BBPD Pluton carried out 2 deployments in Méditerranée, and the GPD Méditerranée was notably engaged in Moyen Orient and Nouvelle Calédonie.
Born on December 18, 1989, Lieutenant Commander Pierre Moucheboeuf joined the École de Maistrance in 2010. After two years aboard the anti-aircraft frigate (FAA) Cassard as a navigator-helmsman, he was admitted to the École navale in 2013. Assigned to the deck department of the La Fayette-type frigate (FLF) Courbet, he joined the clearance diver course in 2016, followed by the École de guerre des mines.
Certified as a clearance diver in July 2017, he subsequently embarked on the tripartite minehunter (CMT) l'Aigle, then joined the GPD Atlantique, where he served as deputy operations commander and then second-in-command. In 2022, upon its creation, he joined the flottille de lutte contre les mines (FLCM) as COMOPS.
Spread across the three metropolitan maritime fronts, the clearance diver groups (GPD) operate at depths of up to 80 meters, both on national territory and in overseas operations, for explosive ordnance disposal, mine warfare, and maritime approach security missions. On a daily basis, they guarantee the protection of the territory by maintaining permanent alerts to intervene on all types of explosive devices, both conventional and improvised. They can be associated with public service missions during rescue, environmental protection, or underwater search operations.
As part of the State action at sea, they neutralize more than 11 tons of historical munitions per year. As essential elements of aeromaritime combat operations, they are easily deployable and intervene in external theaters for mine warfare, harbor clearance, and the protection of combat vessels.
