Aurélien Delescaut, commander of CCMAR MED

On July 15, Vice-Admiral Serge Bordarier, commanding officer of the naval aviation force (ALAVIA), recognized Lieutenant de vaisseau Aurélien Delescaut as the new commander of CCMAR MED at the Pôle Écoles Méditerranée in Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer, succeeding Lieutenant de vaisseau Sébastien Chardigny. Born in Cognac in 1983, Lieutenant de vaisseau Aurélien Delescaut entered the Ecole de Maistrance in 2003 to become a naval aviation controller (CONTA). After graduating from the École Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC) in Toulouse, he chose the Base d'Aéronautique navale de Lorient Lann-Bihoué as his first assignment in 2004, where he participated in the control of search and rescue at sea missions for Falcon 50 and Atlantique 2 maritime patrol aircraft.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER

After obtaining his higher certificate (brevet supérieur) in 2009, he chose the Base d'Aéronautique navale de Lanvéoc-Poulmic where he again participated, until 2012, in the chain of rescue and assistance missions at sea. His active participation in the new control tower project and the development of the air traffic control simulator was noticed by his superiors, who encouraged him to take the specialized officer exam.

He thus became an aspiring air traffic control officer in 2012 and held the position of Defense Control and Coordination Officer, a joint post located at the Centre Régional de la Navigation Aérienne in Loperhet. In 2015, he discovered carrier-borne aviation during his two-year assignment at the Base de Landivisiau as assistant to the head of the control department. Driven by a desire to serve at sea, in 2017 he became head of air traffic control on the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and participated for three years in the multiple deployments of the carrier strike group from the North Sea to the South China Sea.

In 2020, he was assigned to the Commandement de la Force aéromaritime de réaction rapide in Toulon as coordinator of airspace and diplomatic overflight clearances for the carrier strike group and the amphibious group during multiple missions and exercises. In 2022, he left surface forces to join the Base d'Aéronautique navale d'Hyères as head of local airfield control and new advisor to the command for the Toulon Hyères mixed airport and the Cuers airfield. Based since 1987 at the Fort de Cépet, the Centre de Coordination et de Contrôle Marine de la Méditerranée manages, coordinates and controls aero-maritime activities taking place in the LF-D54 airspace. It enables the safe training of the armed forces in coordination with Civil Aviation. Located on the site of the Pôle Écoles Méditerranée (PEM) in Saint-Mandrier, it is a unit attached to the BAN d'Hyères. •
