The Conseil Municipal des Jeunes raised awareness of the duty of remembrance
On July 3, the Conseil Municipal des Jeunes (CMJ) discovered the landing beach in Canadel and attended a ceremony at the necropolis.

Then in Le Lavandou, the children visited the hall of honor of the Commandos d'Afrique, and attended the screening of a film on the Débarquement de Provence. They were welcomed by Yves Boyer, secretary general of the Amicale Régimentaire des Commandos d'Afrique, who accompanied the CMJ in the footsteps of the valiant Commandos d'Afrique. During the guided tour in Canadel, the major role of the Commandos d'Afrique was recalled, notably when they landed as precursors on this beach of Canadel and at Cap Nègre.
On this occasion, the CMJ paid its respects at the necropolis of Canadel, where the first twelve Commandos d'Afrique who fell during the Débarquement de Provence between August 14 and 15, 1944, lie to rest.
On the way back, the group made a stop in Le Lavandou and visited the hall of honor of the Commandos d'Afrique, where items and objects of the Commandos d'Afrique are exhibited. The children attended a screening of a documentary on the epic story of these heroes of the Second World War. This trip marked the respect of the young generation for those who liberated France.
She was also present on August 14th for the tribute to the Groupe des Commandos d'Afrique and during the inauguration of the bust of Lieutenant-Colonel Bouvier, place du 11 novembre.
Furthermore, during the closing session of the CMJ's activities, Lily Rose, president of the Commission mémoire, recalled the schedule of outings made during the year. Thus, on April 26, the CMJ traveled to Draguignan to the American cemetery, to the musée du Muy and to the musée de l'École d'artillerie et des traditions populaires.
Finally, on June 7, the CMJ was in Hyères at the 54ème RA for a visit to the hall of honor and the quartier Vassoigne. The young people met the volunteer recruits, recently incorporated into the regiment at the batterie de commandement tactique N° 7, twinned with the Ville de La Londe-les-Maures.
