Christophe Bizot, a champion focused on others

Outside of boxing and his police work, Christophe also dedicates his time as a volunteer firefighter, thus demonstrating his commitment to public service and protecting others." Indeed, as an amateur boxer, he accumulated victories with some fifty fights to his credit, earning multiple Paris and Île-de-France champion titles. In 1991, he reached a milestone by becoming semi-professional and winning the Paris tournament.

Two years later, he established himself as a professional and dominated the French championship for four consecutive years. "Being champion of France is a wonderful accomplishment, one of the most beautiful titles," he relates with palpable pride.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS The sportsman does not forget the crucial influence of his coach, Antoine Farrugia. "A great coach, a great gentleman who knew how to unite his team, his men, his boxers. He gave everything for this sport," he remembers.

Thanks to Farrugia, meeting the Acariès brothers, and his determination, Christophe became a two-time European vice-champion and world vice-champion in the heavyweight division.

Among the most significant moments of his career, Christophe Bizot recalls his first professional champion of France title, won in Montigny-le-Bretonneux in the presence of his father, another emblematic figure in his life. "It was an immense joy for me," he confides with emotion.

For boxing played a central role in his personal and professional success. Coming from a difficult background, he admits that this sport pulled him out of his original environment. "Without boxing, I wouldn't be where I am today," he humbly acknowledges.

"I was able to learn a trade." Thanks to the discipline and rigor acquired in this sport, he obtained his baccalaureate and a BTS in sports-study at the INSEP.

Today, as a passionate coach, he finds as much satisfaction in passing on his knowledge as in practicing in the ring. MODEL OF SOCIAL SUCCESS In reality, Christophe Bizot embodies a true example of social success. After training as an accountant and a period of unemployment, he moved to the South where he worked in security before becoming a municipal police officer in Bormes-les-Mimosas, then in La Londe-les-Maures in 2008.

In parallel with his duties, he is a volunteer firefighter, a boxing instructor, and president of the ESCAL (Étoile Sportive Culturelle Artistique Londais) club. "When I tell people everything I do, they ask me how I find the time to live," he jokes, admitting to being hyperactive.

However, his greatest happiness lies in his role as a grandfather. "Being a grandfather three times over is a role that I am passionate about above all else," he confesses with tenderness.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, he is delighted to see the ESCAL club come back to life this year.

With enthusiasm, he continues: "I have many young people and members who want to practice boxing. I am particularly impressed by the level of the female boxers I train." He notably mentions Aurlane, a 14-year-old boxer who impresses with her talent and determination.

BOXING, HIS PASSION Optimistic about the future of boxing in La Londe-les-Maures, Christophe Bizot highlights the crucial support of mayor François de Canson: "He is very committed to the development of the sport and supports us enormously. We have many projects to develop the practice of boxing here."

"I am satisfied with my life. I do a job that I like, I practice my primary passion, boxing, which I also teach, and I am surrounded by my children and grandchildren.

Life is beautiful. Boxing has allowed me to make a success of my life, and I am deeply grateful for it," he concludes.
