The Town mobilized against breast cancer
For the 4th consecutive year and for a month, the Town participated in 'Octobre Rose'.
Under the presidency of Philippe Leonelli, mayor of Cavalaire-sur-Mer, and Ghislaine Navarro, deputy delegate, this campaign of prevention, information, and mobilization was punctuated by numerous activities throughout the month of October in support of cancer prevention and research: Dinner-show, nature walk, stage aperitif, children's activities, etc. The highlight of these festivities, on October 11, the sports department organized its major pétanque tournament composed exclusively of female triplets. A highly anticipated moment for the Cavalairoises to benefit breast cancer awareness and prevention. Giggles and good humor were on the agenda at the boulodrome of place Benjamin Gaillard. Another important moment of the mobilization was the conference dedicated to cancer screening on October 16 at the Maison de la mer, led by Professor François Eisinger, oncogeneticist, in the presence of Michel Resbeut, president of the Comité du Var of the Ligue nationale contre le cancer. This year, everyone could proudly wear the campaign colors by purchasing their flocked t-shirt for 'Octobre Rose'. Finally, to close this program, the Cavalairois and visitors will meet on October 30 on the esplanade de Lattre de Tassigny and shared a beautiful musical evening, concluded by a fireworks display launched in the bay of the seaside resort.
