Thus, committed to the preservation of its marine environment, the City has decided to maintain a year-round Zone Interdite aux Engins Motorisés (ZIEM) within which anchoring, navigation, and underwater hunting are prohibited. This ZIEM, as we know it, had existed since 2012 but was only marked out during the summer period. The objective is the long-term protection of the marine environment, the underwater trail, and the reduction of anthropogenic pressures on marine fauna and flora.
