Until now, futsal could be played inside the complexe sportif évolutif couvert (COSEC) of Sainte-Musse. It is now possible to play it outdoors as well. The court adapted to the practice of this football-derived discipline was inaugurated by Josée Massi, Mayor of Toulon, in the presence of the Municipal Council and local sports associations.

FIRST STEP

It completes the existing offer at the COSEC and should allow for a rise in popularity of this discipline, which is already practiced from Monday to Friday by the Sporting Club de Toulon association. A court occupancy schedule with open-access slots and reserved slots will be set up by the Ville. Measuring 44m in length and 26m in width, this facility was built using UV-treated, non-slip, anti-static tiles that are resistant to temperature variations. It is 100% recyclable. The cost of this operation is €85,000 excl. tax and has received support from the Agence nationale du Sport (ANS) and the Fédération française de football through the fonds d’aide au football amateur, amounting to 68.24%. The commissioning of this sports facility constitutes the first step in the redevelopment of this site created in the 1970s. This court, designed and engineered to offer an optimal playing experience for everyone, whether enthusiasts or beginners, will be complemented in autumn 2025 by another dedicated to synthetic football, equipped with high-performance lighting. It will replace the old stabilized dirt pitch. New outdoor developments will also be carried out to transform the site into a functional, attractive, and user-friendly space.

CHAMPION OF FRANCE

With its 250m athletics track, its multi-sports hall that can accommodate around a hundred spectators, its dojo, its multi-purpose courts, and its training and weight-training rooms, the COSEC of Sainte-Musse welcomes numerous sports associations (25,000 practitioners), schools (20,000 students per year), and the general public. From now on, the team sports offer is completed by futsal, a discipline in which Toulon shines since its club Le Toulon Futsal Élite, founded in 2008, plays in D1 and was crowned champion of France in 2019. It has 285 licensed members. On October 10, Toulon received a 4th laurel from the Ville active et sportive label. This distinction, the highest, rewards the efforts of the sports policy led by the Municipalité, which uses sport as a tool for social integration, public health, education, and social cohesion. Home to some 390 sports associations and 369 municipal facilities that it regularly modernizes and adapts to new practices, the Ville promotes and supports the practice of sport across its territory.
