Besides, one wonders what these completely absurd analyses are based on, in perfect contradiction with the official figures!

FALL IN BURGLARIES

AND VIOLENCE

Hence the clarification from the mayor: "To those people, I will gladly remind them of the latest figures released by the préfet on December 11 on the occasion of an operation to secure public transport in Toulon. What do these figures say? Over the first 11 months of 2024, acts of delinquency are in sharp decline for the whole of Var, according to the public statistics service of the ministère de l'Intérieur, responsible for disseminating official delinquency figures in France. A first since 2021 which naturally applies to the territory of the golfe de Saint-Tropez with an 18.7% drop in robberies with violence and a 12% drop in home burglaries. And, with a more pronounced decline during the summer season with 20% less violent crime, and 54% less home burglaries. This decline is due in particular to the effective cooperation between the gendarmerie, police nationale and police municipale services. It can also be noted that the police pressure exerted against drug trafficking has led to positive results in judicial matters since we recorded a 21% increase in the number of drug traffickers prosecuted, while 1,100 users were fined or placed in police custody. Need I go on? Ah, the opponents who surf on the wave of demagogy to tell us about an explosion in crime without providing a single figure. Before telling us crazy stories, don't forget: figures are like children, they don't lie. In Cavalaire, we have always considered security as an essential topic, we have never denied it and we did not wait to act. Security is the first of all freedoms and it is our responsibility to support the national authorities to guarantee it everywhere in the municipal territory. In Cavalaire, we strongly intensified cooperation between the police municipale/gendarmerie in this year 2024, particularly within the framework of the conseil local de sécurité et de prévention de la délinquance". On the ground, this cooperation made it possible to provide the police and gendarmerie services, within the framework of video protection, with 70 extractions for judicial procedures and to respond more generally to 240 grievances. 2024 also made it possible to improve the existing video protection system, by replacing cameras, strengthening the license plate reading system at the entrance and exit of the town, and installing new cameras in the town center, on the outer boulevards, and near schools.

NIGHT PATROLS

The mayor warns: "We will further develop this system in 2025, improve identified, multiplying the patrols of the police municipale in the neighborhoods and among local businesses. I also commit to us reinforcing night patrols throughout the year". Regarding road safety, speed checks increased by nearly 61% over the year 2024 thanks to a reinforcement of teams on the ground. These efforts will be continued in 2025. Finally, regarding anti-social behavior and parking, the Ville has renewed prevention campaigns with a particular attention lighting in and we will intensify on dangerous parking which has been fined. "We will be particularly vigilant on these points in 2025, believe me. Because a peaceful city is a city where people respect each other", concludes Philippe Leonelli, with firmness. •

Let us be vigilant against rumors!

"Let us be vigilant against rumors, voluntarily truncated information, fake-news that have invaded the media space and weaken our democracy! Let us be vigilant against the sometimes dangerous influence of social networks that seek to fuel controversies, to reduce problems to a few anonymous posts and basic reasoning, or the areas to propagate false rumors! Let us not community policing in be poisoned! Let us be vigilant and not yield on the essentials! Let us not yield on the principles that found our society! Let us not yield on the heritage of our République, on our values which have built up a certain idea of France! These values found a particularly significant resonance in the context of the festivities of the 80th anniversary of the Débarquement de Provence throughout the year 2024", urges the mayor.
