“In 2024, more than €10 million in investments to improve daily life”

Thus, the Municipality has dedicated more than €10 million in investments to the transformation and improvement of daily life, carrying out essential projects. Starting with the rehabilitation of place André-Allègre and avenue Foch, restoring life and modernity to these central areas. Truly the beating hearts of our town, these spaces have found a new vibrancy, combining practicality and aesthetics.
As part of the "Un espace vert à 5 minutes de chez soi" Plan, the landscaping rehabilitation of the town center and its roundabouts was undertaken for a more pleasant and harmonious living environment, taking into account the climate adaptability of the species planted. The extension work on the Hôtel de Ville, as well as its redevelopment, was delivered on schedule. ENERGY RENOVATION François de Canson details the strategy put in place: “This achievement concretises our desire to modernize and further improve the reception of users.
From now on, all public services are grouped together in one single location, thus offering a functional, accessible environment adapted to the needs of everyone.
After the Hôtel de Ville and the école Eugène-Oswald, the town continued its energy renovation program for municipal buildings. Thus, during the summer break, in addition to the traditional school refurbishment works, the energy renovation of the école du Moulin-Vieux was swiftly completed. This project included, in addition to the rehabilitation of the building, an energy component that was central to our studies.”
In addition, the town had 40 photovoltaic panels installed on the roof. The aim is to better respond to the climate challenge and to achieve, thanks to this rehabilitation of the premises, a 30% reduction in consumption across the entire building.
The mayor added: “On this subject, last year, I spoke to you about works to improve energy performance in public lighting. By replacing light sources with LEDs and lowering the intensity at night in certain neighborhoods, the results are there, as €100,000 in savings were achieved in 2024 on public lighting. We will continue on this path, with the goal of becoming a true Smart City and seeking more than an additional €100,000 in savings.
Among the significant projects completed in 2024, the resurfacing of the route du Carrubier holds a central place. This road, very busy during the summer season, underwent a complete refurbishment to ensure increased safety, optimal driving comfort, and better traffic management.”
MAJOR PROJECTS IN 2025 “In 2025, we continue to implement our ambitious program with the completion and inauguration of several major projects: the reconstruction of the Cinéma de la Baie des Isles, the renovation of the Théâtre des Bormettes Jean-Malaquais, the rehabilitation of the tennis courts and the club house, as well as the modernization of the salle Yann-Piat. In addition, the boxing gym will benefit from a new floor covering. We will continue with the rehabilitation of the middle school's old gymnasium and the municipality's play areas, and the installation of shading devices on place Allègre and place Camoin,” confirms François de Canson.
He added: “Regarding roads, renovation works will concern rue Berlioz, rue Bussone, rue De Lattre de Tassigny, place des Vendangeurs, place des Tourterelles, allée des Oliviers, boulevard Azan, avenue du général de Gaulle (from Berlioz to Pont Blanc) as well as the primary roads of Valcros in a multi-year phasing. Finally, we are launching the rehabilitation operation of the Front de mer (arrière-plage Miramar and boulevard du front de mer) as well as the preliminary studies for the future rehabilitation of the école Jean-Jaurès.”
PRINCIPLE OF PROXIMITY “Since 2008 and until the end of the mandate, we will have invested €125 million, without any tax increase for permanent residents. During the 2020-2026 mandate, we will reach €43 million in investment, with systematic recourse to external financing from our institutional partners.
Our roadmap is therefore not complete. We will therefore roll it out with conviction throughout the coming years, drawing inspiration from past actions, and remaining – permanently – attentive to our citizens.
This is the only way not to isolate ourselves and become cut off from realities on the ground. This principle of proximity remains essential to me. In this spirit, the duty of our team is to do our work in service of the public with consistency, efficiency and humanity,” the mayor concludes with wisdom.
