François de Canson at the heart of the 2030 Olympics!

On February 18 at the Stade de Lyon, he participated in the Constitutive General Assembly of the COJOP 2030. Welcomed by David Lappatient, president of the CNOSF, and opened by Michel Barnier, former Prime Minister and special representative, this first general assembly brought together the founding members. The meeting concluded with the signing of the statutes and the official appointment of the president of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Alpes Françaises 2030, Edgar Grospiron.

The latter delivered his vision for the Alpes Françaises 2030 project, aligned with the sustainability and sobriety objectives set by the IOC and the stakeholders. David LAPPARTIENT, AN EXEMPLARY 2030 EDITION 'Appointed today to head the Comité d'Organisation des Alpes Françaises 2030, Edgar Grospiron, the boss of the moguls, the Olympic champion, the born leader, has all the assets to successfully carry out this mission. I am very happy, proud and honored to have been mandated to serve on the future Conseil d'Administration of the COJOP, with my colleague Hervé Liberman, president of the Commission Sport, and also on the Comité des Territoires, where I will once again represent the Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur,' welcomed François de Canson.

The vice-president of the Région Sud added: 'From the very beginning of this adventure, with Renaud Muselier, the president of the Région Sud, we proposed that this 2030 edition should be the least expensive and the most exemplary in the history of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, with a concept based on simple principles, without opposing ecology and economy: Reuse of existing infrastructure, no construction of buildings that would not find an obvious use after the 2030 Games, and relying on expertise that exists locally.'

FUTURE OF THE MOUNTAINS 'The presence of the Minister of Tourism, Nathalie Delattre, alongside the Minister of Sports, Marie Barsacq, is a strong message to our territories. Towards our professionals who make the heart of our mountain ranges beat. These Winter Games, which will take place in the Alpes Françaises, the leading ski area in France, are an opportunity to demonstrate that the future of the mountains goes hand in hand with a tourism that is as powerful as it is responsible.

Together, we will imagine the mountain of 2050,' concluded the president delegate of ADN Tourisme.

For his part, Edgar Grospiron, president of the COJOP Alpes Françaises 2030, declared: 'The Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of the Alpes Françaises 2030 are today moving from project to reality. The COJOP is now created and will soon be fully operational. The challenge is immense: organizing Games in five years with optimized resources, while guaranteeing an exceptional event, faithful to Olympic and Paralympic requirements and to the expectations of the territories.'
