"Imagining the city of tomorrow with unprecedented scientific mediation"
On February 14, Thierry Albertini welcomed Françoise Nyssen, former Minister of Culture, as part of the "(Re)générations" project.

In the company of the mayor, the president of the NEEDE association met with young Valettois and their elders from the Conseil des Sages, who are participating, along with other members of the public, in the participatory workshops set up as part of the "(Re)générations" project. The visit concluded with the signing of this innovative project at the Écoles du futur, in the presence of many elected officials from the Conseil municipal, including Sylvie Laporte.

ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION "The objective of the partnership forged between the Ville and NEEDE is to imagine the city of tomorrow, with an unprecedented scientific mediation system based on the challenges of ecological transition and on an inclusive approach. This will make it possible to define a coherent and shared environmental strategy to best plan this year's projects and those to come, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals," insists the mayor.
He adds: "Climate change is here, in our daily lives, now perceptible at the territorial scale. Our fellow citizens are gradually taking its measure and expect a strong commitment from public authorities and businesses. The fight against climate change is at least as much about actions conducted as close to the local level as possible as it is about major international commitments, territorial policies as much as legislative and regulatory texts."
However, local authorities need to understand the challenges, better train elected officials, executives, local government staff, and employees, and raise awareness and mobilize all stakeholders in the territory and define a transition strategy. The president of NEEDE summarizes the association's approach in three Thierry Albertini resumes: "NEEDE offers each of these stakeholders, local authorities or businesses, support in writing a roadmap, which can take the form of assistance in implementing concrete actions. It is about articulating a transversal approach to ecological transition challenges, taking into account political and strategic priorities and specific territorial issues and constraints, to enable each stakeholder supported in this way to better understand the environmental challenges of their territory and thus act more effectively."

words: Raise awareness, train, support. She adds: "In order to allow as many people as possible to understand and engage in an enlightened transition, NEEDE is deploying "(Re)générations", a series of awareness-raising actions to pass on the keys to understanding the challenges of the transition for today and tomorrow, and the possible means of action for everyone."

ROADMAP Concretely, this is an unprecedented scientific mediation system relying as much on environmental sciences as on human and social sciences, based on the challenges of the ecological transition of Mediterranean territories. Indeed, the desire to project their territory into the future, combined with the more immediate phenomenon of the energy crisis, has led local stakeholders (public and private) to become aware of the need to implement environmental transition actions.
However, they have not all been able to integrate them into a coherent, prioritized plan, adapted to the territory and agreed upon with the population.
