The Maison communale Gérard Philipe, a major project
The town is in full transformation, with the Municipality aiming to modernize its infrastructure and strengthen the cultural offer.
As a result, the rehabilitation of the Maison communale Gérard Philipe takes a central place in this dynamic. This project, scheduled for completion on August 29, constitutes an important step for the town center, which is transforming to offer more services and comfort to residents and visitors.
The project benefits from funding shared among several institutional players, with the Ville's self-funding representing a major share, making it a significant investment in local development. The overall amount of subsidies granted: €2,376,895. The estimated cost of the project (including studies and works) is €10,224,629.
MAJOR CULTURAL HUB The project is part of a global vision of cultural and artistic development. In addition to the rehabilitation of the Maison communale, the Ville is creating a dense cultural hub, linked to other major facilities in the area. The future hub will include the new municipal theater, the media library, the Galerie G, the Conservatoire TPM, the salle Gérard Philipe, the Hall Dieudonné Jacobs, the esplanade, the salle Mussou as well as the cinéma du Rocher.
This desire to link the town's various cultural venues will allow for a smoother and more coherent dynamic for users, while strengthening accessibility to culture for all.
The rehabilitation works of the Maison communale Gérard Philipe began in 2024 with the renovation of the area dedicated to the municipal printing house, offices, and community rooms on the first floor. Now, it is the turn of the main salle Gérard Philipe and the Hall Dieudonné Jacobs to undergo a complete rehabilitation. These renovations include numerous technical and architectural aspects.
The roof will be modified to improve insulation and rainwater management, and the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electricity, and fire safety systems will be entirely redone. The objective is to guarantee optimal comfort for users, improve the conditions for welcoming the public, and reduce the energy consumption of all facilities. Thus, the salle Gérard Philipe, used for various events such as art fairs, ceremonies, or school shows, will benefit from these improvements to better meet the expectations of the population.

Cladding: ongoing. Waterproofing: ongoing. Finishing work: the sanitary facilities have been completed, while air conditioning, air treatment, and electricity are currently being installed.
