An enriched cultural programme in the new theatre

This project, supported by the Ville for several years, is becoming a reality with a space dedicated to the stage, which will be located next to the Médiathèque, in an ultra-modern 350-seat building. The funding for this ambitious project has been secured by several public partners. The estimated cost of the work is €7,227,763.

FUNDING: REGIONAL-SCALE HALL The project is progressing rapidly. The metal frame is complete, the waterproofing finished, and the secondary construction work is underway, including the installation of ducts, partitions, electrical equipment, as well as the installation of the lift and the supports for the technical grid in the stage area. Work is therefore progressing according to schedule and should allow for an opening as soon as possible.

The new theatre, designed to offer a varied and high-quality programme, stands out due to its exceptional dimensions. With its large stage and a ceiling height of 9 metres, it can host large-scale performances, whether classical or contemporary theatre, dance, music, circus, comedy, magic, or shows for young audiences. This venue is above all an ambitious project aimed at offering an enriching cultural experience for all audiences in the region.

Thus, the 1,257 m² building includes a spacious lobby, a ticket office, as well as premises dedicated to artists and technical teams. The architecture fits harmoniously into the urban landscape, while establishing a link with the Gérard Philipe community house and the neighbouring médiathèque. It also aims to become a centre for creation and innovation.

RICH PROGRAMMING From the opening, the theatre promises a varied and high-quality programme. More than 20 shows are already scheduled for the 2025/2026 season. Audiences will be able to discover classical and contemporary plays, concerts, dance and circus performances, as well as a family musical for Christmas.

The theatre will also offer cine-concerts, comedy shows, and special events for school groups and young audiences. With more than 30 scheduled curtain-raisers, the season will be full of surprises, including public rehearsals and special sessions for young audiences, as well as duplicated performances so that everyone can enjoy the events in the best possible conditions. The Ville thus invites audiences to dream without limits, discover new artistic horizons, and experience unforgettable moments on this new stage dedicated to wonder and discovery.

• Accessibility for all: This theatre aims to be an inclusive venue, with rates adapted to all budgets and specific facilities for people with disabilities (PMR, equipment for the deaf). • Support for artists: This venue is dedicated to supporting theatre companies and show creators, offering them a space to innovate and express themselves. • Cultural bridge: The theatre aims to strengthen links with the médiathèque and the contemporary art gallery 'La Galerie G', thereby creating a cultural and artistic hub in the commune.

• Professional training: The venue also plays an important role in training for performing arts professions, offering young talents the opportunity to learn and hone their skills in this field.
