At Domaine de Favanquet, the start of a new cycle
The Domaine begins a new cycle with the appearance of the first buds and the construction of an innovative building.
La Londe-les-Maures DOMAINE DE FAVANQUET More than 5 years ago, three passionate families took over this 16-hectare vineyard, classified as Natura 2000, which required a considerable amount of work to get it back on its feet. NEW BUILDING Originally, the estate was not in good condition, was not certified organic, and lacked infrastructure. In 2025, the construction of a new building became essential to meet operational needs.
This building, designed to blend harmoniously into the landscape, was built using earth from the estate and a natural lime-based plaster. It houses offices, storage rooms, and facilities for agricultural equipment, while being equipped with solar panels for green energy production. The reception area was designed to reflect authenticity and the terroir, with a counter made from the estate's compacted raw earth.
À l'origine, le domaine n'était pas en bon état, n'était pas certifié bio et manquait d'infrastructures. En 2025, la construction d'un nouveau bâtiment est devenue indispensable pour répondre aux besoins d'exploitation. Ce bâtiment, s'intégrant harmonieusement dans le paysage, a été réalisé avec de la terre du domaine et un enduit naturel à base de chaux. Il abrite des bureaux, des locaux de stockage et des installations pour le matériel agricole, tout en étant équipé de panneaux solaires pour une production d'énergie verte. L'espace d'accueil a été pensé pour refléter l'authenticité et le terroir, avec un comptoir réalisé à partir de la terre crue compactée du domaine. Les cuves de vinification sont situées à la Cave coopérative de La Londe-les-Maures et les propriétaires, œnologues de formation, s'occupent de la vinification sur place.
The winemaking vats are located at the Cave coopérative de La Londe-les-Maures, and the owners, trained oenologists, handle the winemaking on site. AGRO-ECOLOGY The vineyard, situated on schist soil, benefits from maritime influences that enrich the taste of the wines. Certified in organic agriculture and agro-ecology, the estate adopts environmentally friendly practices, promoting biodiversity and soil health.
The owners make it a point of honor to feed the soil with plant organic matter, without resorting to chemical fertilizers. Plants like lupin are sown to enrich the soil with nitrogen, thus promoting a flourishing biodiversity, notably with the presence of numerous species of pollinating insects. The current work consists of tying the canes to the wires to channel the growth, while keeping a close eye on the workplace.
The estate offers a simple range of wines: a white, a rosé, and a red. One of the goals is to develop nature-based wine tourism, allowing visitors to discover the vineyard and interact directly with the producers. The 2024 vintage was exceptional, and the team is focusing on preparing a good 2025 vintage.
With its old vines over 50 years old and its commitment to sustainable viticulture, it positions itself as a key player in the local wine landscape, combining tradition and innovation to offer authentic terroir wines.
