With grandeur, the town celebrates its traditional patronal festivals

The resort celebrates its traditions with two key patronal festivals: the Feux de la Saint-Jean and the Fête de la Saint-Pierre. THE FEUX DE LA SAINT-JEAN THE FÊTE DE LA SAINT-PIERRE As every year, the town is preparing to celebrate its old traditions with two major events, the Feux de la Saint-Jean and the Fête de la Saint-Pierre. These festivities, anchored in local heritage, promise to bring the community together around powerful and convivial moments.

Thus, on Tuesday 24 June, the resort celebrates the summer solstice with the Feux de la Saint-Jean. This Provençal tradition brings the community together around a large bonfire. The evening begins with an outdoor Provençal mass at 6 p.m., followed by Provençal songs at the Boulodrome du Port.

At 7:30 p.m., the official launch of the patronal festivals is marked by an opening speech, the blessing of the weapons, shots of honour and the official presentation of the colours. A long procession towards the downtown beach begins at 8 p.m., followed by a buffet cocktail to benefit the charity association "Sang pour Sang" at 8:30 p.m. From 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., a beach ball with the orchestra "Les Mélomanes" enlivens the evening, which concludes with the Feux de la Saint-Jean at 10:30 p.m.

Likewise, on Sunday 29 June, the Fête de la Saint-Pierre pays tribute to the Patron Saint of fishermen. The day begins with a Provençal mass at 10:30 a.m. at the Saint-Laurent church, followed by a procession and Provençal dances. At 3 p.m., a grand procession at sea takes place, followed by an aubade to the fishermen at 4:30 p.m.

In addition, traditional Provençal dances and songs are presented at 5 p.m., before the return of the Saints to the church at 6 p.m. A paid buffet cocktail to benefit the "Sang pour Sang" association is organised at 7 p.m., followed by a Saint-Pierre ball with the orchestra "Absinthe" from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The day ends with a procession towards the downtown beach and the setting alight of the Barque at 10:30 p.m.

These festivities are hosted by several traditional Provençal groups, including Lei Masco de Gassin, la Chorale du Golfe, Mer Provence et Traditions, les Fifres et Tambours de Barjols and the traditional dance group Lei Pegot de Flayosc. Visitors are invited to come in large numbers, dressed all in white, to give these days the stature they deserve.
