20 MNS and 7 CRS, the eyes of your holiday safety

During the summer season, beach and swim surveillance is one of the priorities of a seaside resort. Thus, as every year, the Ville provides the resources by recruiting 20 MNS from late May to September. The system is completed in July and August by a reinforcement of 7 CRS for the aid stations of the town centre, l’Anglade, Saint-Clair, and Cavalière. As part of beach surveillance, the Ville also has 5 rapid intervention vessels in connection with the central station and 6 emergency call boxes (La Fossette, Aiguebelle, Jean Blanc, Pramousquier, Cap Nègre and its beach).

RESPONSE TIME

During this period of high attendance, a prefectoral decree has limited the intervention zones for greater speed and efficiency. These zones are defined by two points marked by a rectangular yellow and red flag. These flags allow for a delimitation of the supervised area and vary according to beach attendance or weather conditions. Under these new regulations, the traditional information provided by floating flags on the aid stations must also be noted: green flag (supervised swimming presenting no apparent danger), yellow flag (supervised swimming with limited or marked danger), and red flag (swimming prohibited). Resources and rules that must not prevent swimmers and boaters from remaining vigilant. Of course, the caution advisory also applies to children so that the holidays remain a beautiful interlude and do not turn into a tragedy.

Surveillance is provided from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
