An inspiring evening looking to the future

The grand annual evening of the Fédération du BTP du Var, held in La Valette-du-Var, offered a stimulating, lucid, and resolutely forward-looking evening.

through humor, commitment, and straight talk on the major issues facing the profession. Cyril Bolliet, secretary general of the Fédération, set the tone from the opening, using family spirit and quick-witted replies to welcome the guests. Then, Fabien Piersanti, president of the Fédération, broke away from the traditional speech for an illustrated exchange session, focusing on the sector's major challenges. The economic climate, shifting public policies, regulatory instability... "We are daredevils governed by risk-averters," he said frankly.

HOUSING AND INFRASTRUCTURE

The evening served as a reminder that housing is both an economic lever and a societal imperative. The Fédération calls to include the business leaders, representatives of institutions present for this meeting marked Daubresse - Cosson proposals on the status of the partners and were private landlord in the 2026 finance bill. It warns of the need to invest massively in public infrastructure, denouncing the gray debt linked to the under-maintenance of networks and the blocking of urban planning in certain municipalities due to a lack of access to water. Faced with these findings, the Fédération is relying on dialogue with local authorities, through the Office du BTP, and on concrete tools such as the Charte de la commande publique, signed in 2024. It also defends localism, a "legal and balanced option", in the face of discriminatory practices suffered by Var companies outside the department. Another challenge addressed was the acceptability of works. Growing intolerance towards them, summer municipal decrees, and the lack of awareness of the role of the BTP in improving the living environment were pointed out. "We are not the enemies of the environment," recalled Fabien Piersanti, emphasizing the profession's efforts in waste management, training, and innovation. The Fédération also intends to address the crisis of vocations in BTP professions. A new training program for site managers starts in September, in partnership with Batys Compétences. The CFA de La Garde will undergo a major rehabilitation (€27 million by 2030), and an innovation commission will be created to encourage clean technologies and sustainable practices. The evening concluded with the testimony of Axel Alletru, a former motocross champion who became paraplegic. A twelve-time French disability swimming champion, then a Dakar rider, he delivered a vibrant message on courage, resilience, and self-transcendence. An inspiring mirror of the daily life of BTP entrepreneurs. •
