On the RD14, an important milestone for mobility and safety
The inauguration of the RD14, its greenway, and the cooperative roundabout marked an important step for sustainable development in the commune.
As a reminder, this is a major project, the fruit of a solid and long-term partnership. Hence the satisfaction of François de Canson, vice-president of the Région Sud, who in July inaugurated the developments carried out in collaboration with the État, the Département, the Région, and the commune. This operation illustrates the ability of institutions to cooperate to improve the daily lives of residents.
QUALITY OF LIFE
“This operation perfectly illustrates our common desire to improve the quality of life of our fellow citizens. The project, which is part of the regional strategy for ecological transition, includes soil de-sealing, tree planting, the creation of soft mobility paths, and the modernization of public lighting for greater energy sobriety. Ecology is not a dogma or a slogan: it is what we live on a daily basis,” declared François de Canson. The developments include the replacement of an outdated pipeline by a new, larger-diameter pipe over 1.2 km, at a cost of nearly €500,000. The cost of the project amounts to €1,859,000, funded by the État, the Département, the Ville, and the Région. President of Méditerranée Porte des Maures, François de Canson praised the work of Jean-Louis Boyer and Jean-Luc Rovere in monitoring the construction site. Beyond the infrastructure, he recalled the deeply republican dimension of this action: “Because that is what the République is, meaning pooling our resources, our wills, our efforts to make our territories succeed and our fellow citizens live better.” He also paid tribute to Patrick Martinelli and his team, highlighting their exemplary commitment to serving the residents. Finally, the vice-president of the Région delivered an inspiring message. “The future is not suffered. It is built, stone by stone, bench by bench, light by light. Pierrefeu-du-Var, through this concrete achievement, stands as an example of collective intelligence and territorial success,” he concluded, hailing the union of public forces around a useful, ecological, and republican project. •
