Laura and Rémy Boulet, a love and passion for bees
Laura and Rémy Boulet, settled in the village for a decade, have united their love and passion for a profession, driven by the transhumance of beehives.
La butinerie de l'Angueiroun won 7 medals at the Paris Agricultural Shows in 2024 and 2025: 2 gold for lavender honey and coriander honey, 2 silver for summer flower honey and maquis honey. This year, they added 2 gold medals for coriander honey and summer flower honey, as well as a silver medal for the robust flower and buckwheat honey.
ASIAN HORNET Despite these successes, Laura Boulet expresses concerns about the climate and the presence of the Asian hornet. "We are very proud to have won these 3 new medals this year because the beekeeping season was very difficult, with a lot of rain last spring. We missed honey flows, our bees were not able to benefit from the maquis, acacia, chestnut trees...
But the honeys that our bees managed to harvest are of high quality and won over the jury.
In recent years, the Asian hornet has also been putting phenomenal pressure on our Bormes-les-Mimosas hives in the autumn. It eats our bees, weakens the colonies and contributes to increased mortality (30% for us). The Asian hornet problem is increasingly serious, more and more publicized, and a law to combat it is currently being studied," says Laura Boulet.
