After the natural disaster of last May 20, which affected the neighborhood of Cavalière, large-scale works have started to restore traffic on the road bridges and the coastal cycle path damaged by the floods. As a reminder, this exceptional flood caused two deaths and left hundreds of victims. After the shock, a great wave of solidarity and significant resources were made available to protect the summer's seaside potential. On September 2, a public meeting, led by elected officials and technicians, made it possible to detail the works scheduled for the coming weeks. Thus, a major €205,000 project started on September 8 and is scheduled to end on October 10. During this period, the RD 559 is closed to traffic. All vehicles must take the diversion, which was previously reserved for heavy vehicles. These works are coordinated by the technical services of the Ville. And, a daily presence is maintained to answer questions from residents. Finally, since May 20, the company Guintoli, commissioned by Méditerranée Porte des Maures, chaired by François de Canson, has carried out restoration work on the waterways. Following the restoration of the minor beds and banks, civil engineering works are planned at various strategic points to stabilize the most exposed banks.
