Barthélemy Roux, commanding officer of the Flottille Amphibie

The command of Commander (CF) Erwan Kermabon was marked by the deployment of numerous detachments over two years. In addition to the usual long-term deployments on the Corymbe and Jeanne d’Arc missions, the FLOPHIB took part in several high-intensity exercises such as Mare Aperto, Baltops, Argo, Kraken, and Catamaran. The FLOPHIB was also deployed on alert on three occasions, aboard three PHA, in Méditerranée orientale. Innovation is an integral part of the command's priorities, with the integration of EDAS-NG, particularly overseas, as well as the dronization of the amphibious field. Influence and cooperation are permanent objectives of this atypical unit. Thus, it took part in the July 14, 2023 parade on the Champs Elysées, site expertise in Europe and Liban, commemorations of the landing in Normandie, and was twinned with the 1er REC in April 2024. Lieutenant Commander Barthélemy Roux was born in Versailles on October 29, 1985. He joined the Navy in 2009 as a volunteer aspirant watch officer, then became a contract officer in 2010. A volunteer commando, he was first assigned to the patrol vessel La Glorieuse, then to the BEM Dupuy de Lôme as head of the Bridge department. He joined Lorient in 2013 for commando training, followed by an assignment as group leader at the commando de Penfentenyo from 2014 to 2015. After the 92nd combat diver course, he served in the commando Hubert from 2016 to 2022 as group leader, then as operations officer, in charge of monitoring and developing underwater capabilities. He participated in numerous operations. From 2022 to 2024, he was appointed second-in-command on the surveillance frigate Nivôse, based in l’île de la Réunion. In 2024, he rejoined the commando Hubert to serve as second-in-command. Lieutenant Commander Roux is married and the father of four children. He holds the Croix de la Valeur Militaire and the gold Médaille de la Défense Nationale.
