Martin Redoutey at the helm of the La Fayette-type frigate
On September 9, Vice-Admiral Christophe Cluzel, commander of the Force d’Action Navale, recognized Commander Martin Redoutey as the new commanding officer.

The command of Commander Anne Favède lasted 18 months, including a major technical overhaul and two long-term deployments. Following her major technical overhaul from January to May 2024, the frigate was then deployed for four months in the Atlantique, Baltique, and Méditerranée, a first for a vessel of this type. The frigate La Fayette thus protected maritime approaches in Brest in support of the Force Océanique Stratégique (FOST).
She then participated in an OTAN mission in the Baltique to strengthen allied cooperation in this area, before supporting the IRINI mission in the Méditerranée. Her final three-month deployment in the eastern Méditerranée reinforced the French position, maintaining autonomous situational assessment capabilities in this region.
In total, the La Fayette accumulated more than 190 days of deployment.
MISSION JEANNE D'ARC Following the Jeanne d'Arc 2008-2009 mission, Commander Martin Redoutey was assigned to the public service patrol vessel (PSP) Arago. There, he successively served as operations officer and executive officer. His career continued in the field of above-surface warfare (LAS).
Indeed, Commander Martin Redoutey would serve as head of the LAS department aboard the FLF Guépratte.

He then joined this branch within the École des Systèmes de Combat et Armes Navales (ESCAN) before taking command of the diving support vessel (BBPD) Achéron in September 2014. In 2015, he joined the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle as electromagnetic detection sector head, then assistant, and finally head of the LAS department. His assignment was marked by intense operational engagements such as the fight against Daesh in the Levant.
Assigned in late 2018 to the préfecture maritime de la Méditerranée as head of the maritime approaches office, he coordinated the maritime activity of the various State administrations. In 2021, he joined the twenty-ninth class of the École de guerre before moving in 2022 to the centre d'expérimentations pratiques et de réception de l'aéronautique navale (CEPA/10S) as officer in charge of the connectivity domain.
Appointed executive officer of the air defense frigate (FDA) Forbin in July 2024, he participated in the ASPIDES mission protecting maritime traffic in the mer Rouge.
