A welcome roundabout on the RD 559
The Département is building a roundabout on the RD 559 (avenue Lou Mistraou) at the junction of chemin du Niel and chemin du Surle...

Highly anticipated for several years, work has started for a duration of 10 months, carried out mainly from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Only the asphalt surfacing work is scheduled at night. This intersection, which lacks clear visibility, handles heavy traffic, and left-turn movements are quite dangerous. In addition, it serves the business park that Méditerranée Porte des Maures is going to redevelop.
LOCAL RESIDENTS' SAFETY

Since September 29, traffic has been modified on the RD559, chemin du Content, chemin du Niel, and chemin de Surle, with the implementation of alternating traffic, depending on the needs of the construction site. Access to properties located along allée de la Vigne Vierge, as well as to nearby businesses, is maintained throughout the work. Finally, the Département advises parents of pupils attending Jean Moulin school to opt for school transport. For individual travel, chemin des Vignerons can be used with caution. Regarding public transport, no existing bus stops are affected. Lines passing through the construction zone are only affected by traffic restrictions: speed limit of 30 km/h, alternating traffic flow... 'The objectives of the work are to facilitate and secure access to public facilities, namely the school group, the sports complex, and the commercial zone. They aim to improve the safety of residents and users, moderate speeds when approaching the intersection by increasing visibility, and secure pedestrian and bicycle flows by creating continuity with existing "soft mobility" routes. Furthermore, we will create two bus stops,' explains the Département. 'Concretely, the preparatory work involves the removal of invasive alien plants, earthworks, the overhaul and creation of a rainwater system and a public lighting and telecommunication network, the undergrounding of overhead lines, the reinforcement of public lighting, the construction of a retention basin, retaining walls, and an access staircase to chemin du train des Pignes,' adds the departmental authority.
Cost of the operation (including studies, land acquisitions, and work): €1,800,000 tax-inclusive, funded by the Département with a contribution from the municipality of €670,000.
