Placed under the presidency of Rachel Dasq, succeeding Marie-Claude Vuez, her mother who passed away on May 3, the association's work is thus a continuation. An action led by the founding president since 1983 on behalf of our four-legged friends. For her part, Rachel had been working for sixteen years with discretion and efficiency, also driven by a great love for animals.

Thanks to the Syndicat Intercommunal Le Lavandou – Bormes-les-Mimosas - La Londe-les-Maures (SIVOM), the association has had a site in Manjastre since 1986. It benefited from funding from the three municipalities to rehabilitate the structure. Thus, a lot of work was carried out by the shelter's volunteers: improvement of vehicle and pedestrian access, renovation of the chalets (roofing, interior paint and flooring), maintenance of the grounds (pruning, brush clearing and trimming) and securing of the parks (concrete fences, etc.)

Work that has allowed the rescued dogs and cats to find in this place what they sometimes lacked: warmth, food and comfort! The animals can also be adopted or returned to their owners for those found wandering.

400 MEMBERS In front of an audience that easily reached the quorum of over 400 members, the items on the agenda were voted unanimously and the Board of Directors was renewed with responsibilities assigned to the delegated directors. In this regard, Rachel Dasq stressed: "The employees and volunteers, as dedicated as ever, continue to invest their time to allow the shelter to pursue its missions and to provide the residents with the care and support they need. Despite the summer heat, everything went well for our residents and the swimming pools were very useful.

In 2024, there were 85 adoptions (64 dogs and 21 cats) and 5 foster families (4 dogs and 1 cat). The dog pound also took in many animals: in Bormes Les Mimosas (11 dogs and 14 cats), in La Londe (10 dogs) and in Le Lavandou (2 dogs). Some of our old companions were also adopted."

The president also gave an update on the activities. Thus, the "Noël des Animo", renewed this year on November 29, the opening day of the Marché de Noël du Lavandou, the participation in Le Lavandou in "Papattes, la fête qui a du chien". The shelter successfully maintained "open days" on May 24 and 25 and October 11 and 12.

Finally, the president of Animaux sans frontière thanked the SIVOM and the municipalities. She highlighted the support provided by businesses and shops in the intercommunality (Solidarita, Animo and Co and 30 millions d'amis).
