Cavalière, seven months after the flood, has returned to normal life

More than seven months later, Cavalière is coming back to life. A quick look back: as the summer season was approaching and the Cavaliérois were preparing to welcome tourists who particularly appreciate this district of Le Lavandou, a natural disaster occurred without any specific weather warning, leading to an environmental catastrophe and causing the deaths of two people.

To repair the immense damage as quickly as possible, a colossal project immediately began, thanks to the financial and technical intervention of the Méditerranée Porte des Maures community of municipalities, chaired by François de Canson, and the Département. Nearly seven months later, elected officials took stock of the work in the presence of neighborhood residents, shopkeepers, and the many stakeholders involved. An assessment made in the presence of Simon Babre, prefect of Var, François de Canson, vice-president of the Région and mayor of La Londe-les-Maures, and the mayor of Le Lavandou.

During this meeting, the State representative and the elected officials were surrounded by municipal employees who were thanked for their mobilization. Thanks to all those who contributed to the restoration of daily life, Cavalière is rising again. This meeting also marked the end of the rehabilitation work and the reopening of the bridge which, since that sad day, had made crossing the village inaccessible, particularly for 19-tonne vehicles.
