Thus, the company took part in this ceremony, which commemorated the 85th anniversary of the creation of the détachement de marins-pompiers de Toulon, deployed during the Nouvelles Galeries fire in Marseille on October 28, 1938. Presided over by contre-amiral Arnaud Tranchant, deputy to the commander of the arrondissement maritime Méditerranée, in the presence of capitaine de vaisseau Pierre Suleau, commander of the base navale de Toulon, this ceremony was once again an opportunity to recall the historic commitment of the navy firefighters of Toulon, 87 years ago, during a disaster that was one of the greatest tragedies of the 20th century for the city of Marseille. Their major intervention helped contain a devastating fire with a heavy toll.

It is this disaster that led to the creation of the Bataillon de marins-pompiers de Marseille.
