Pushing their limits for Alexandra and Sophie at the Rallye Roses des Sables

This unique event (from October 17 to 26, 2025) brought together women from all over France and beyond for a 100% female, sporting, and supportive adventure in the heart of the Moroccan desert.

Among them, two residents of the Sud region, Alexandra and Sophie, who proudly represented Var and Bormes-les-Mimosas with their crew "Team Cap ou pas Cap". Beyond the sporting and mechanical challenge, they experienced a deeply human adventure. Committed to this solidarity rally, they participated to defend two causes close to their hearts, namely "Femin'Hymne" and "Les Rêves de Lana".

Dépassement de soi pour Alexandra et Sophie au Rallye Roses des Sables

BREAST CANCER Indeed, Sophie Lioust-Bardy supports Femin'Hymne, an association founded by breast surgeon Magali Niederoest, which supports women after breast cancer. The young woman explained: "It is not just an association, it is a stepping stone to rebirth for women who have faced the unthinkable. Through yoga, body painting, and meditation, they reconnect with their body and their femininity."

For her part, Alexandra Giraudo wore the colors of the association "Les Rêves de Lana", created in memory of a little girl from Bormes-les-Mimosas who was taken too soon by cancer.

She says: "Lana passed away a year and a half ago. We met her father to carry Lana's colors into the desert. In Bormes-les-Mimosas, everyone knows Lana. She is part of our daily lives. During a meeting, her father opened one of her notebooks and Lana had written in it: 'I dream of going to Africa'."

"For us, this little note made total sense. We ran for 'Les Rêves de Lana' in the hope of matching the strength she showed throughout her cruel illness." Through their stories, the "Team Cap ou pas Cap" crew perfectly embodied the spirit of the rally, namely solidarity, pushing one's limits, and sisterhood.

Driven by broad local support, they were ready to take on this great challenge. Indeed, from a logistical and financial point of view, this participation in the rally was made possible thanks to support and sponsors including the Ville de Bormes-les-Mimosas, the Département, and local commercial brands that supported the two female racing drivers.

ON THE ROUTE From Marrakech to the finish in Fez, the African rally-raid is a wild adventure, with the bonus beauty of magnificent dunes and the Bormes-based crew no. 329. At the wheel, Sophie is already an experienced competitor as this was her 20th participation. Alexandra, her new co-driver, was competing for the first time.

She was very happy to live a dream with the association "Team Cap ou pas Cap". In the end, a sporting and mechanical challenge in the heart of the Moroccan desert for 10 exceptional days.

Without any vehicle damage or withdrawal. At the finish, the duo ranked 39th out of 78 crews in the 4x4 category.

A duo that worked perfectly together, driver and co-driver, in great harmony and with a supportive commitment in a deeply human competition. "For us, the rally-raid made complete sense," they declared upon their return to Var.

They were clearly delighted to have taken on this challenge for all those fighting cancer.
