In a solemn and friendly atmosphere, families, civil and military authorities, local partners and supervisors of the service Réserve Jeunesse of Var witnessed the official recognition of the journey of these committed young people.

15 DAYS OF IMMERSION

During 15 days of immersion within the gendarmerie, the cadets discovered the richness and diversity of the institution's missions. Supervised by the service Réserve Jeunesse of Var, they participated in many educational themes: road safety, prevention of market scams, environmental preservation actions, cohesion, discipline, esprit de corps, and initiation into the role of flag-bearer, a strong symbol of the link between memory and citizenship.

This unique experience, an integral part of their phase 2 of the SNU, a mission of general interest, allowed them to better understand the demands of the profession and to absorb the fundamental values of the gendarmerie: honor, commitment, and dedication to the Nation. The cadets de la gendarmerie exist thanks to the decisive action of the regional association of the cadets de la gendarmerie covering the Sud region. This structure, composed of members of the réserve citoyenne and supported by numerous institutional and private partners, ensures the durability and funding of the program. Thanks to this collective commitment, many young people can live a unique experience of civic immersion and concretely discover the meaning of service to the community.

Under the presidency of Colonel Goumain, commander of the groupement, the cadets received, not without a certain emotion, their certificates from the hands of the supervisors and authorities present. Then, Vincent Dujarric de Lagarde, Délégué général of the Souvenir Français of Var, presented the diplomas of the Souvenir Français, highlighting the essential place of the duty of remembrance in the cadets' journey. In addition, the bleuet de France, accompanied by its rondache, was presented to the cadets on behalf of the Office Nationale des Anciens Combattants et des Veuves de Guerre (ONAC VG). Finally, the bronze level medal of the réservistes de Défense et de la Sécurité intérieure was awarded to Adjudant Nicolas Moulin in recognition of his commitment to the service Réserve Jeunesse of Var. At the end of this sequence, vocations began to take shape. Beyond pride and emotion, this ceremony often marks the beginning of a vocation. For many of these young people, these fifteen days of immersion confirmed a desire to serve and protect. Thus, some are already considering continuing their commitment by joining the réserve opérationnelle or preparing for a career within the gendarmerie nationale. The staff, proud to have accompanied them, salute their motivation and sense of duty, qualities that embody the future of the gendarmerie and the continuity of its values among new generations. Thus, during the Armistice commemoration at the war memorial of La Valette du Var, volunteer cadets proudly and with discipline assumed the role of flag-bearer, a symbolic role filled with respect for all those who have served the nation. In the presence of the supervisors, the cadets showed, alongside the veterans, a great sense of duty and exemplary behavior, illustrating the values of respect instilled in them throughout their training. The day ended with a visit to the mémorial du Faron.
