In front of a packed room, the mayor immediately welcomed the presence of numerous elected officials from neighboring municipalities and residents, recalling the attractive character of the town, which he described as a "place of life, exchange, and anchoring". This traditional ceremony was held this year under the sign of "gathering, transmission, and attachment to the municipality".
Thus, an important place was given to youth. The evening opened with the intervention of the Conseil Municipal des Enfants (CME), before the screening of a film symbolizing the dialogue between generations and the social bonds that unite the Valettois.
Without going into the details of future projects, as the electoral calendar does not allow for mentioning achievements and projects, Thierry Albertini recalled the role and responsibilities of the mayor. "Being mayor means listening, arbitrating, explaining, sometimes reassuring, sometimes saying no. It must be said with sincerity: the mayor cannot do everything."
"We act within a strict legal framework," he declared.
Once again, the mayor traced local history and memory, highlighting the DNA of the municipality, based on a strong identity and a shared heritage. A way to recall the importance of transmission between generations and the deep attachment of residents to their territory.
The ceremony concluded with wishes of happiness and solidarity addressed to all Valettois, punctuated by a rallying formula: "Long live Var."
