VILLAGE SPIRIT Constrained by the electoral code as the election of March 15 and 22 approached, François de Canson had "neither the freedom to draw up a balance sheet, nor the right to announce new projects". A constraint that the mayor transformed into a political opportunity, choosing to define the identity of La Londe not as a simple postcard, but as a response to the crises of a "dangerously unstable" world. Faced with the "vertigo" of national politics and social divisions, he opposed them with the stability of local geography.
In a speech with sometimes lyrical tones, he described La Londe as a "bright light" that glides over the vineyards in the morning before reaching the sea. For the mayor, this landscape is not just a backdrop, it dictates a political conduct: that of "moderation". "Here, time does not fade: it is inscribed", he hammered, reminding that the balance between man and nature is a daily conquest.
This vision is embodied in the unwavering support for farmers and winegrowers, those "guardians of a precious balance" who refuse to sever ties with the land. An excellence of the terroir illustrated by Olivier Roux, a multi-medalist olive grower at the Concours Général Agricole, symbol of a municipality that refuses to become a soulless commuter town. At the heart of the message, the concept of "the village spirit" was set up as a doctrine.
Far from being a nostalgic retreat, for François de Canson it is a "singular way of inhabiting the world". It is the security of a peaceful daily life, local shops, and intergenerational bonds. "La Londe is a town on a human scale, not by default, but by choice", the elected representative insisted, defending the idea of the municipality as a "small nation" and a "SME of the République" that must be allowed to breathe in the face of central bureaucracy.
LAND OF TALENTS This cultural and heritage identity is finding a new lease of life with the "Lou Suve" project, a future Mistralian town destined to anchor the city in its Provençal lineage. To prove that this local anchoring does not prevent openness, the mayor honored those who make the municipality shine. Excellence is everywhere: among artisans with the Juléo bakery, distinguished by the Syndicat des boulangers du Var, or with Albertino Da Silva, a mechanic named Maître Artisan by Roland Rolfo, president of the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat.
The youth of La Londe also carry these values of work and merit, like Camille Min Gaultier, a European-level golf medalist, swimmer Sébastien Cimolino, or Agathe Jouvenel, vice-champion of France of trades in graphic design.
