For nearly twelve years, her artistic practice remained on hold, until lockdown allowed her to reconnect with drawing and color. It was during this period that Véronique Sanson developed an approach focused on observing her environment, looking at themes such as architecture and landscapes. Volumes and light became the pillars of her artistic research.

In 2021, she created Mines et Couleurs, dedicated to capturing the beauty of the landscapes of Var and beyond. Thanks to watercolor, the signature technique of her work, she manages to capture the brightness and intensity of the colors around her. Her creative process often begins with sketches made on the spot, in sketchbooks, inspired by touching landscapes.

Studio work then allows her to deepen these initial impressions.

SOFTNESS Her style is characterized by a softness brought by watercolor, while being structured by a fine and precise pencil line. This proves to be the ideal technique for bringing out the intensity of winter colors, while maintaining the lightness of her line. In her series of inks, she uses a midnight blue nib and pencil to accentuate the landscapes, while her paintings mix watercolor, graphite, and colored pencils to create vibrant atmospheres.

Always in search of new inspiration, the artist draws from her travels through France and Europe to immortalize the uniqueness of the landscapes and architectures she discovers. From Lisbonne to Paris, by way of Luberon and Bretagne, she translates her sensitivity through light and accomplished works, carefully choosing the right colors without ever overloading them. Each watercolor tells a story of light and nature, reflecting her journey and her love for the landscapes of Var and beyond.
