Budgetary rigor for the new municipal team
Mayor Bertrand Carletti presided over his first Conseil municipal, marking a shift toward more rigorous management.
Three days after taking office, Bertrand Carletti, the mayor, presided over his first Conseil municipal on April 8. In a serene atmosphere, this inaugural session allowed for the voting of the 44 deliberations necessary to set up the new team and to outline the contours of a municipal management that promises to be more sober and oriented towards sustainable investments. The Carletti era thus begins with a structural reorganization and strong budgetary choices.
For nearly two hours, the elected officials proceeded to designate delegates and compose the various commissions that ensure the operation of the commune for the duration of the term. By show of hands or secret ballot, responsibilities were distributed in key sectors such as the commission d'appel d'offres, public service delegations, the conseil d'exploitation du port, the board of directors of the Centre Communal d'Action Sociale (CCAS), or the EPIC de l'Office de Tourisme. This step formalized the representation of Le Lavandou within several intercommunal bodies such as the SIVOM, alongside Bormes-les-Mimosas, La Londe-les-Maures, and Le Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer, as well as the Syndicat des Communes du Littoral Varois.
SOBRIETY Beyond this, the council recorded its first political decisions. While a slight increase in the water surcharge was voted, the port rates remain unchanged, although a "total overhaul" was announced for the future. The mayor also marked a symbolic break by announcing the cancellation of the traditional temporary garden.
This decision will redirect funds towards sustainable projects and to "optimize public resources".
This need for rigor is all the more pressing as the budget is impacted by the rehabilitation of the Cavalière district, heavily affected by a natural disaster in 2025. Among other adjustments, paid parking did not start until May 1st.
The events policy was subject to special attention, with the mayor showing his determination to better control costs. "Particular attention on expensive free summer concerts whose impact of benefits is not measurable," declared Bertrand Carletti. The example of the concert by the artist Seal, which had cost the commune €300,000, was cited to illustrate this change of course.
"We can probably redirect this spending with more diverse concerts. We need to work on this," he added.
At the end of the session, the mayor highlighted his intention to integrate the well-being of the municipal agents' professional environment into future projects.

The opposition is composed of two groups: "Regain" (Nathalie Janet, Carole Mamain, Cédric Roux, Maxence Lavau, Antoine Isaia) and "Un avenir partagé" (Nicolas Coll).
