Welcomed at the national necropolis of Boulouris by Charles Maguin, president of the Saint-Raphaël committee, Mme Dubuc-Piqué and the flag-bearers, the group walked through the site where soldiers of the 1ère DFL rest. After a tribute at the graves of Cameroonian François Ziki, of the BM5 killed during the fighting at Mont Redon in La Crau, and Algerian Béchir Berabah of the 22ème BMNA, buried until 1964 in the divisional cemetery of Saint-Honoré in La Londe, the young people laid a tricolor wreath and observed a minute of silence before singing the Marseillaise and the Chant des Africains. On the esplanade of the Dramont, Maurice Polverini, (10 years old in 1944), an Algerian war veteran, recounted the bombings and the landing of American troops on August 15, 1944. The afternoon was devoted to a visit of the remarkable Musée des troupes de Marine in Fréjus, guided by young bigors.
