A day dedicated to water for young and old

The Town invited families and nature lovers to its traditional "Nature en Fête" event. For this edition, the Espace Naturel de la Brûlade featured the theme of water in all its forms for a friendly and educational day at the heart of the local natural heritage. The programme featured numerous activities for all ages. For instance, children up to 5 years old took part in a balance bike race. The equestrian world was also in the spotlight with two performances of the show "Une ondine à cheval à la découverte de la Provence". Provençal culture was not forgotten, with extracts from "Jean de Florette" by Marcel Pagnol, performed by the company "Dans la Cour des Grands". Finally, Gymnastique Rythmique Londaise presented its show entitled "Voyage au fil de l’eau". A wide range of workshops was also offered throughout the day to raise public awareness in a fun way. Awakening and discovery workshops made it possible to better understand the water cycle through concrete experiments, identify seabirds and invasive species, or learn basic first aid. The youngest children enjoyed toy boat races, duck fishing, or cycling circuits. As in previous years, the Union Cycliste et Pédestre Londaise (UCPL) organised activities for young people visiting with their families. Right from the morning, Jean-Luc and Timéo set up a gymkhana, inspired by Savoir Rouler à Vélo. Then, the young cyclists tested their bike control in terms of handling and balance. 12 bikes had been loaned by "Storm Bicycle" and adjusted to the size of each participant by the youngsters from the mountain bike school. This workshop was very popular, with 211 young people, some of whom rode the proposed circuit 4 or 5 times. Hubert Larose, the president of UCPL, thanked the club's volunteers for their commitment. A particular highlight was when the youngest arrived with their balance bikes to test the course after taking part in the race organised by the PEEP!
