The traverse Deï Limbert, a key thoroughfare
The Town has inaugurated the traverse Deï Limbert, a €826,000 key route promoting soft mobility and quality of life.
The municipality celebrated the completion of a major project with the inauguration of the traverse Deï Limbert. This strategic development, which connects chemin du Pont to chemin de Bénat, transforms the face of the neighborhood by bringing modernity, safety, and an improved quality of life for residents. The ceremony took place in the presence of the mayor, François Arizzi, accompanied by his counterpart from Le Lavandou, Bertrand Carletti, as well as numerous elected officials, teams from the municipal technical services, representatives of partner companies, and local residents.
After the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony symbolizing the opening of the road, a friendly moment of exchange made it possible to gather the first impressions of the residents, who were particularly satisfied with this achievement. GLOBAL PROJECT Far from being a simple road, the traverse was designed as a comprehensive project aimed at improving the daily lives of users. One of the most visible aspects of this transformation is the complete undergrounding of overhead networks, both electrical and telecommunication (Orange).
This operation freed the horizon from the visual pollution of cables and poles, offering a more aesthetic and unobstructed view, enhanced by landscaping.
Safety and functionality were at the heart of the concerns. The road, which is now two-way, features new night-time public lighting that is more efficient and energy-saving. On a technical level, the drinking water and sanitation networks have been completely modernized to ensure their long-term viability.
Finally, safety was enhanced with the installation of a fire hydrant, and waste management was optimized with the creation of new facilities for household waste.
This development illustrates a strong municipal desire to promote a balanced sharing of public space. Special attention was paid to pedestrians and cyclists in order to encourage alternative modes of travel to the car. For cycling enthusiasts, a dedicated and secure cycle path, three meters wide, has been created.
It integrates into the local network of cycling routes and offers a comfortable and safe path. Pedestrians benefit from a 1.40-meter-wide sidewalk, compliant with accessibility standards for people with reduced mobility, thus ensuring easy use for all.
STRUCTURAL INVESTMENT The creation of the traverse represents a total investment of €826,000 including tax. This structural project was co-funded by the community of communes Méditerranée Porte des Maures (MPM), highlighting its importance at the intermunicipal level. Its realization was made possible thanks to a land acquisition carried out in consultation with the Association Syndicale Libre (ASL) du Petit Plantier, demonstrating collaboration between public and private actors for the general interest.
