On July 7, the ship's flight deck hosted unprecedented drone races bringing together civilian and military pilots.

An innovation challenge for the Marine

On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the Marine celebrated this year, this unique day was part of the Marine's approach to strengthen its innovation capacity and drone mastery in the face of a constantly evolving operational and technological environment.

Joint-service synergies

The objective was also to deepen synergies and exchanges of joint-service best practices. Thus, the Marine welcomed representatives from the armée de Terre, the armée de l’Air et de l’Espace, as well as the Gendarmerie nationale.

During dedicated workshops, these service members developed essential reflexes for drone piloting: rapid assessment of the environment, anticipating trajectories, fine coordination, and decision-making under pressure.

Up against civilian champions

To add exchange and competition, these teams faced off in drone races against renowned professional civilian pilots, such as Killian Rousseau, three-time FPV racing world champion.
