Nicolas Moulin: "A tremendous cultural and heritage success"

Thanks to interactive devices and historical objects, the tour combines memory and modernity, offering much more than a simple tribute to popular comedy.

The venue's success does not rely solely on its permanent exhibition. A dynamic programming of high-quality temporary exhibitions has made it possible to constantly renew its appeal and build loyalty among a wide audience.

To mark this decade, the museum has also published a limited series of collector's tickets featuring the likenesses of adjudant Gerber and maréchal des logis-chef Cruchot, a souvenir that will delight enthusiasts and collectors alike.

The key role of the ACSPMG

From the very beginning of the project, the Association des Collectionneurs pour la Sauvegarde du Patrimoine de la Maréchaussée et de la Gendarmerie (ACSPMG) has been an essential partner. Its president, Nicolas Moulin, looks back on this commitment.

"First and foremost, it is a source of great pride. Ten years is an important first milestone for a museum."

"It was natural to answer the call when the Ville de Saint-Tropez wished to create this museum. From the very first meetings, we simply brought our heritage expertise, shared our knowledge, and participated in various key stages of the project's progress."

This collaboration took the form of concrete actions, ranging from historical advice to the loan of collection items.

"Our contribution took several forms: advice on the 'gendarmerie heritage and history' section, loans under agreement of pieces from our heritage collections, the provision of historical documents, film set photographs, and the identification of heritage objects."

A successful cultural transformation

For Nicolas Moulin, the museum's greatest success is having built upon the fame of the films to offer a deeper cultural experience.

"Visitors often come to find memories of the films with Louis de Funès and leave having discovered the history of an institution over three centuries old. This is what was achieved by the municipality, the partners, and the entire museum team."
