The galerie Le Moulin invites the public to an immersion into the singular world of Patrick Moya, an unclassifiable contemporary artist. The opening of his new exhibition took place on September 15.

The artistic exploration will continue until October 9, offering a gateway to a body of work that, for more than forty years, has pushed the boundaries between the real and the virtual.

A journey in 26 letters

The exhibition is structured as an invitation to escape. Through the 26 letters of the alphabet, Patrick Moya guides visitors to the heart of his imaginary territory: Moya Land.

This universe, both mischievous and poetic, is populated by characters, fantastic animals, and iconic creatures that have marked his career. The journey, rich in colors and surprises, is composed of a multitude of mediums: paintings, sculptures, unusual objects, and installations. Each letter transforms the gallery into a true contemporary cabinet of curiosities.

At the center of this world lies a recurring figure: the little "Moya", an endearing and caricatured self-portrait inspired by Pinocchio. This character is the artist's signature, an alter ego who explores the twists and turns of his own creation for him.

Alongside him are iconic figures such as Dolly the sheep, the first cloned mammal, as well as an astonishing bestiary. The whole bears witness to a unique artistic approach, where humor blends with a deeper reflection on identity and creation. This exhibition is a synthesis of this personal mythology, which is playful and accessible to all.

A pioneer of virtual worlds

Passionate about new forms of expression, Patrick Moya is recognized as a pioneer of virtual worlds. His work is not confined to gallery walls; it extends to digital worlds where he was one of the first to occupy spaces like Second Life.

This approach deconstructs the traditional boundaries of art, with the artist becoming both the creator and a fully-fledged character within his own imagination. He thus embodies a vision of total art, where life and work intertwine in a constant dialogue between the tangible and the digital.
