A cultural event deeply rooted in the region
The 4th edition of Automne des Peintres ended with the awards ceremony, highlighting the diversity of local pictorial creation.

The fourth edition of Automne des Peintres concluded with the traditional awards ceremony, which took place in the Yann-Piat exhibition hall.
In just four years, this event has become an anticipated fixture on the local cultural calendar, offering a rich and varied panorama of the local pictorial scene.
Furthermore, the ceremony provided an opportunity to look back at the event's vocation, which is to create a meeting place for artists and the public, and to celebrate the emotional power of painting.
Every year, I notice an increasingly significant presence of female painters. It is a very fine development because they bring a certain freshness to our events.
Passing on to younger generations
For his part, François de Canson, in his closing speech, highlighted the growing success of the exhibition, which has found its audience.
Automne des Peintres aims not to confine creation to a single aesthetic, with the displayed works witnessing a great diversity of styles: figurative, abstract, landscapes, as well as a multitude of techniques and personal universes. Once again this year, the Yann-Piat hall transformed into a space for exchange and emotion, where very different sensibilities were able to come together and engage in dialogue.
Because they look differently at what we have sometimes grown accustomed to no longer seeing.
Next, he emphasized the artist's approach, made of time, research, and a degree of vulnerability.
Exhibiting a canvas is never entirely trivial. Behind what we see hanging, there are hours of work, research, hesitations, enthusiasm, and sometimes failures. There is that very personal part that the artist decides one day to submit to the gaze of others.
One of the new features of this edition was welcoming classes from the town's schools. Because the town is determined to build bridges between artistic creation and young audiences, in order to spark vocations and awaken perspectives. For elected officials, access to culture is perceived as an issue of transmission.
It means creating that first encounter. The one that might make a child want to pick up a pencil or a brush; the one that will help them understand that there are a thousand ways to represent the world and, above all, a thousand ways to look at it.
A proactive cultural policy
In reality, Automne des Peintres is part of a broader cultural policy led by the municipality, which aims to keep creation alive throughout the year, notably through Galerie Horace-Vernet. This event is an extension of that policy, striving to be more collective and accessible to all.
Finally, François de Canson thanked the cultural department and Stéphanie Migliore, elected official for Culture, for organizing the event, as well as the jury members. He recalled that the awards given were intended to reward works that particularly caught attention, without establishing a hierarchy between unique artistic approaches.
Keep painting. Keep searching. Above all, keep surprising us.
