A symbol of continuity and commitment

On July 2, Captain Augustin-Marie Aubret succeeded Paul Zanassi as commander of the BAN d’Hyères.

The Base Aéronavale (BAN) d’Hyères, a strategic site of the Marine nationale, was the scene of a solemn change of command ceremony on Thursday, July 2.

Presided over by Vice-Admiral David Desfougères, this event officialized the assumption of command by Captain Augustin-Marie Aubret, who succeeds Captain Paul Zanassi.

Stéphane Rambaud, member of parliament for the 3rd constituency of Var, attended this major event, which marked an important step in the life of the base, which is essential to the defense of the territory and the security of the French people.

STANDARDS

In keeping with military traditions, this handover illustrated the continuity of State action and the transfer of responsibilities within the armed forces. It highlighted the permanent high standards that characterize the commitment of sailors in the service of the Nation.

This symbolic moment reaffirmed the permanence of the missions entrusted to the Marine nationale for the protection of France's interests.

The ceremony was also an opportunity to pay tribute to the women and men who serve daily within the Base Aéronavale. Their professionalism, availability, and sense of duty were highlighted as essential contributions to the operational excellence of the Navy.

The deputy's tribute

Stéphane Rambaud praised the work accomplished by the outgoing commander. He highlighted the “commitment, sense of responsibility and action in the service of the BAN Hyères” of Captain Paul Zanassi, which contributed to the influence and efficiency of this base.

He then extended his wishes for success to Captain Augustin-Marie Aubret in his new duties. Expressing his conviction that he will pursue the missions entrusted to him with determination and high standards, he recalled the importance of respecting the values of excellence, courage, and service that form the foundation of the Marine nationale's action.

Finally, he renewed his support and gratitude to all the base personnel for their “exemplary dedication to the service of France,” seeing in this ceremony an illustration of the strength, adaptability, and permanence of the commitment of military institutions.
