Sub-lieutenant Vincent Dejoie took command of the mine clearance diver support vessel Achéron in Toulon.
On July 16, a military ceremony was held in Toulon to mark the change of command of the Bâtiment Base de Plongeurs Démineurs (BBPD) Achéron.
Presided over by contre-amiral Nicolas Pannetier, organic assistant to the commander of the Force d’Action Navale for seabed warfare, the ceremony officialized the assumption of command of enseigne de vaisseau de 1ère classe (EV1) Vincent Dejoie, who succeeds lieutenant de vaisseau (LV) Maxime Vignol.
A specialist in underwater warfare
Enseigne de vaisseau de 1ère classe Vincent Dejoie joined the Marine nationale in 2019 after a course of civilian studies. He began his career overseas aboard a bâtiment de soutien et d’assistance (BSAOM), conducting fisheries patrol missions.

Specializing in underwater warfare following his training at the École d’Application des Officiers de Marine (EAOM), he embarked between 2022 and 2024 on first-rank frigates, notably a frégate multi-missions with enhanced air defense capabilities (FREMM DA).
During these assignments, he participated in a long-duration deployment to the East China Sea, led submarine tracking missions in the Eastern Mediterranean, and contributed to the protection of civilian shipping in the Red Sea as part of the European operation ASPIDES.
He also took part in the citizen evacuation operation SAGITTAIRE in Sudan in 2023 before serving as deputy operations commander on a patrol vessel based in Toulon.
Deep diving
Lieutenant de vaisseau Maxime Vignol leaves the command of the Achéron after an eleven-month period rich in operational activities.
Entering the École navale in 2018, this gunnery officer served on the high-seas patrol vessel Commandant Ducuing and the frégate multi-missions Provence before taking the head of the BBPD on August 27, 2025.
Under his authority, the Achéron was deployed to Portugal for the international exercise REPMUS25, during which the crew contributed to the testing and operation of various surface and aerial drones. The unit was engaged several times in public service missions in French maritime approaches.
Its most notable deployment was the support provided to a detachment of the CEPHISMER (Cellule Plongée Humaine et Intervention Sous la Mer) for the exploration of military deep-diving capabilities on the historical wreck of the Lune, a ship of Louis XIV sunk off Toulon.
