The Université de Toulon has sealed its roadmap for the next five years. On July 16, its president, Xavier Leroux, signed the Contrat d’objectifs, de moyens et de performance (COMP) for the 2026-2030 period, a binding act that formalizes the trust and support of the State towards the institution of the Var.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Philippe Baptiste, minister of Higher Education, Research and Space. It gathered the presidents of the other universities of the academic region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and the main institutional partners of the territory, marking the importance of this contractualization.

A structuring financial support

At the heart of this agreement lies a financial envelope of nearly 4.2 million €, allocated by the State over the duration of the contract. This multi-year funding offers the university a crucial budgetary visibility and stability to calmly deploy its strategic project.

These resources will make it possible to support pedagogical innovation, develop research centers of excellence, modernize infrastructure and improve the living and studying conditions of students. It acts as a lever to strengthen the attractiveness of the institution at national and international levels.

Beyond the financial aspect, the signing of this COMP constitutes a validation by the State of the relevance and consistency of the strategy carried out by the Université de Toulon. The contract recognizes a vision of development built in line with the specificities and strengths of its territory.

By aligning its training programs and research axes with the needs of the local economic and social basin, the university confirms its ambition to be a major player in development, innovation and social cohesion in the Var. This strong territorial grounding is now at the heart of its public service commitment.

A reciprocal commitment

The Contrat d’objectifs, de moyens et de performance is a management tool that formalizes a pact of mutual trust. In exchange for the financial support of the State, the Université de Toulon commits to achieving specific and measurable objectives.

The latter will likely focus on improving the success rate of students, strengthening links with the socio-economic world to foster professional integration, or even the contribution of its research to major transitions, notably ecological and digital. This strategic roadmap will guide all of the institution's actions until 2030.
