La Garde will vibrate all summer with a 100% festive and free program, designed for all ages and tastes.
From major concerts to traditional festivals, including cultural gatherings and outdoor activities, the Municipality offers dozens of events that bring life to the town until September.
Two major free concerts
The musical highlights kick off with two major free concerts on the place de la République. On Wednesday, July 8 at 9:30 p.m., the artist Jérémy Frérot, triple gold-certified, makes a stop in La Garde as part of his national tour.
On Wednesday, August 12 at 9:30 p.m., it is the turn of the iconic Compagnie Créole to get the public dancing to their timeless hits, from “C’est bon pour le moral” to “Bal masqué”.
Les Nuits du Mas
Classical music lovers have an appointment with “Les Nuits du Mas”, three evenings under the stars at the Mas de Sainte-Marguerite.
On July 7, “Les Cordes Fantastiques” revisit the world of Harry Potter. On July 21, the “Ensemble des équilibres” offers a poetic trio for violin, cello, and harp. Finally, on July 28, the duo “Hémisphères” creates a dialogue between the cello of Guillaume Latil and the cavaquinho of Matheus Donato.
Culture, poetry, and traditions in the spotlight
The Confluences festival holds its 6th edition from July 3 to 5 in the gardens of the Musée Jean-Aicard Paulin Bertrand. This event honors the author Sylvain Levey, with readings, theater, and meetings allowing the public to exchange with the artist and the actors.
For those who like to combine reflection and friendliness, “Les agoras d’été” by Philippe Granarolo offer three evenings of “philosophical coaching” on the esplanade Gérard Philipe on Mondays, July 6, 13, and 20, around the thoughts of Épicure, Thomas Hobbes, and Hannah Arendt.
On Wednesdays, July 15, 22, and 29, the parc Elluin transforms into an open-air cinema for “Ciné sous les étoiles” with the screening of Paddington au Pérou, Wonka, and Le robot sauvage.
On the seaside, the Naturoscope offers activities all summer at the Anse Magaud to discover the riches of the Méditerranée. Introductions to snorkeling and explorations of the seaside for the youngest (“Les pieds dans l’eau”) are planned in July and August.
Finally, the flagship event of the summer, the Nocturnes Médiévales, will transport visitors to the heart of the Middle Ages from July 31 to August 2. The town center and the Vieille Garde transform to welcome knights, troubadours, craftsmen, and fantasy creatures.
