In Bormettes, the soul of a neighborhood festival of yesteryear
The traditional Bormettes festival brought life to the neighborhood during the four days of the Pentecôte 2026 weekend.
Every year, the Bormettes neighborhood comes alive with a very special fervor on the occasion of the must-attend event of the Pentecôte weekend.
Driven by the dynamism of the ESCAL association and the Municipality, this popular and intergenerational festival transforms Place Françoise Belot into a huge entertainment space. The 2026 edition, which spanned four days of jubilation, perpetuated a well-anchored tradition, combining a vibrant funfair with cultural activities.
Daytime activities for everyone
For 4 days, the neighborhood wakes up to the sound of laughter and festive music. The days are punctuated by a balance between street entertainment and the fun of the rides.
Saturday afternoon gives pride of place to the youngest with dedicated shows (magic, puppets, or balloon sculpting) followed by tasty afternoon snacks.
On Sunday afternoon, the must-attend doubles pétanque tournament, organized in partnership with the Boule Ferrée Londaise, brings enthusiasts together on the boules court in a great atmosphere.
The weekend closes on Monday with a traditional musette ball hosted by renowned accordionists, right after the famous grand popular aïoli which gathers hundreds of guests.
In parallel with these events, the funfair is in full swing every afternoon and the attractions offer a range of activities for all audiences.
Shows and parades at nightfall
When the sun sets over the plane trees of Place Françoise Belot, the atmosphere changes dimension to become magical and electric.
The nightly festivities begin with the official opening, followed by the famous torchlight procession. Led by local brass bands and the dynamic choreography of the cheerleaders, this luminous parade kicks off the weekend.
Then, every evening, the main stage lights up to host free shows. The public can thus applaud cabaret revues, music-hall shows with flamboyant costumes of feathers and sequins, or variety concerts featuring the greatest standards of French and international song.
The square transforms into a nightclub
Around 11 p.m., it's time to dance. The festival transforms into a huge open-air nightclub thanks to the "Dj Parties".
Resident and guest DJs take to the turntables to mix summer hits and the wild rhythms of the moment, extending the night until 1 a.m. or 2 a.m. Fast food stands, cotton candy, churros, and local refreshment stalls allow night owls to regain their strength between two dances.
Every year, the neighborhood succeeds in preserving the soul of a neighborhood festival of yesteryear while offering modern activities. It is this clever blend of Provençal friendliness, carnival thrills, and night shows that makes it an essential landmark of the spring in La Londe.
