Pierre-de-Ronsard school: a class wins the Écopousse contest

Joy and pride were palpable in Mme Mouchot's CP-CE1 class at the Pierre-de-Ronsard school on the occasion of the Ecopousse contest prize-giving ceremony, presented by workshop facilitator Léa Bourglan and Mayor Julien Argento on June 9.

This prize rewarded the work accomplished by the enthusiastic young students, concluding the discussions and training sessions on eco-friendly practices carried out throughout the year.

Let us let the students speak to sum up this adventure: "First of all, we really enjoyed the Ecopousse interventions, which helped us better understand the importance of eco-friendly actions in our daily lives. Following this awareness-raising, we decided to participate in the art competition with the inspiring theme 'What is your superpower to protect the planet?'. In connection with the theme of the tree, the thread of our school year, we created an artwork representing a tree made from various salvaged and recycled materials. We would like to send a big thank you to all the people who mobilized to support our project by voting for our creation."

A tough competition

In practice, residents are asked to vote for their favorite artworks and the competition is tough since 1,463 creations were submitted by the 700 registered classes, and only 150 of them were selected and rewarded.

In this case, the tree with blue and red flowers that sits proudly at the back of the classroom, between the world map and the grammar rules, is the sign of a successful project and a reminder of a mission.

The young schoolchildren have become "Guardians of Energy", called upon to help the Ecopousse mascot (a charming electrical plug with a big smile) save as much energy as possible. Needless to say, the parents have been well trained.

In short, a project that has united generations around issues of the future and has brought joy to the children, happy to receive their gifts and to talk with the mayor.
